1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

My customer here in Las Vegas is selling another stunning Mercedes from his collection.. completely rebuilt by German Auto body mechanic in 2008 is this 1971 280 SL “Pagoda”  .. considered by many to be the most desirable of the vintage SLs….  it has a great running ORIGINAL MOTOR and just about everything works, even the radio and clock.. our owner is very meticuous about his cars.. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CAR COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL WHEELS AND HUBCABS SHOWN – NOT THE AFTERMARKET MORE MODERN CHROME RIMS CURRENTLY ON THE CAR.. BUT THOSE CAN BE PURCHASED AS WELL FOR AN EXTRA $750 (or I will try to get the owner to include for free if your purchase price is right!).  

 

The car has the matching removable Hard Top with Stand.. .the lining on the hard top is in wonderful condition. The car has very nice leather seats and door panels.  From what we can tell.. THERE IS NO RUST on the car, but I will say very little just in case.  The front and back fenders and grill were replaced during the restoration with MB Factory Parts ! Car still has original aluminum trunk lid, hood and doors. The car was completly serviced recently and has new fuel injectors. the original motor was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago, and the Auto transmission was just adjusted and serviced… the owner has all the receipts from his maintenance as well as the 2008 restoration….  The AC is currently NOT working but all the parts are there… it also has new shocks, new brakes, a new exhaust, 4 Disc CD Changer,  All the chrome is in amazing condition… wonderful Dash and steering wheel, etc.. even the light in the glove box works !

 

It would be hard to find a nicer 71 280 SL in this rebuilt condition.. the high value for this car on NADA is over $100,000  but you can get this one for much less if you act now… our last 71 280 SL waa not at nice as this one, but it was purchased fast and shipped back to Germany !!!!

 

Please note, I am a boutique classic car dealer in Nevada, so any Nevada residents who purchase this car to register in Nevada will need to pay a 8.1 % Nevada sales tax and a $99 documentation fee… but I have taken this into consideration in the great-value pricing of this car.
